Ingredients
2 portabello mushroom caps
1 (14oz) can fire roasted tomatoes
1/4 cup 1/4 apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp 2 brown sugar
1/4 cup 1/4 onion powder
1 Tbsp 1 minced garlic
1 Tbsp 1 hoisin sauce
1 Tbsp 1 black pepper
1 Tbsp 1 paprika
1 tsp 1 tabasco
1 tsp 1 chili powder
1 tsp 1 ground mustard
1 tsp 1 liquid smoke
1 tsp 1 slap ya mama seasoning
Preparation
- Heat saute pan over medium heat.
- Shred mushrooms with two forks (see video here) then add to saute pan and begin to cook mushrooms over medium-low heat.
- Blend remaining ingredients in food processor and add sauce to mushrooms, reserving 1/2 cup of sauce to drizzle over nachos if preparing BBQ nachos recipe.
- Add mushroom carnitas to tacos, nachos, burrito bowls and more!
