Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Peanut Oil

  • Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Tapioca Flour

  • 1/4 cup Water

  • 1 Tbsp Garlic, minced

  • 1 Tbsp Ginger, minced

  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar

  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce

  • 1/4 cup Rice Vinegar

  • 1/4 cup dry White Wine

  • 1 cup Not Chicken Broth

  • Tofu
  • 1 package Tofu, cubed

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp pepper

  • 8 small dried Red Chiles stems and seeds removed, finely chopped

  • 1 cups Scallions (green onions), sliced for garnish

  • Fried Rice or Steamed Rice for serving

Preparation

  • Sauce
  • Put everything in a quart jar with a lid and shake it up, then put in the fridge. Just shake it up again when you are ready to use it.
  • Tofu
  • Season tofu with salt and pepper.
  • Heat the oil over medium hight heat.
  • Stir-fry tofu until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  • Place 1 tablespoon oil in a wok and heat until very hot. Add the scallions and chiles and stir-fry for about 30 seconds. Shake the sauce to recombine, then pour it into the wok. Cook until thick. If it gets too thick, add water until it’s the right consistency.
  • Serve the tofu and veggie of choice over brown rice. Spoon sauce over bowl. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • You will have sauce leftover. Add more or save to make again in 1 – 2 days.
