Spicy Italian Ground Tofu Sausage

A great spicy tofu sausage recipe to add in pastas, soups, tacos and more!


  • 16 ounces tofu extra firm

  • 2 Tablespoons tahini

  • 2 Tablespoons soy sauce low sodium

  • 1 Tablespoon vegetable broth

  • 1 Tablespoon nutritional yeast

  • 1 Tablespoon coconut sugar

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon cumin

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • q Tablespoon sesame oil


  • Press and drain the tofu, pouring off liquid as necessary. This will take about 10 minutes using a tofu press. If pressing between plates with weights, it might take up to an hour.
  • While the tofu is draining stir together all other ingredients into a medium-sized mixing bowl.
  • Heat oil over medium heat. Add tofu and spice mixture and saute for about 10 minutes or until tofu is heated through and a bit crispy.
  • Serve immediately.


  • You can use this recipe for so many things but it is fabulous in the Zuppa Tuscana soup.
