I love this recipe because its like you’re getting twice the holiday fun in one cup! The spice from the chai tea mix couples perfectly with vegan eggnog. Definitely the perfect winer treat. Let’s start mixing!

Gather Ingredients for Recipe

To get started with this yummy homemade non dairy eggnog recipe you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Pecans (soaked overnight for 8 hours)
  • Oatmilk
  • Almond Milk
  • Maple Syrup
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Ground Nutmeg
  • Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • Chai Spiced Tea Mix
  • Vanilla Extract

Another great thing about this recipe is you’re not tied down to any of the measurements shown here. A great way to veganize your favorites, like eggnog, is to experiment. So I encourage you to get creative and experiment with this recipe. Maybe try different plant milks. Whatever you do keep creating until you’re able to make it your own!

Make Your Pecan Milk

Once you’ve gathered your ingredients you’ll want to make your pecan milk. To do this you’ll need to have soaked your pecans in hot water overnight. Then rinse the pecans under running water until water runs clear. Next add pecans to a small bowl and fill bowl with water until water just meets the top of the pecans. Now a big spoonful at a time add the pecans along with water to the juicer until the pecans have all been added to the juicer. Once you’ve made your pecan milk add to a large mixing bowl.

Mix Remaining Ingredients

Then add remaining ingredients to the mixing bowl with the pecans: oat milk, almond milk, maple syrup, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice, chai spiced tea mix and vanilla extract. Whisk until ingredients have been well combined. Then add to a large saucepan and heat over medium low heat for 7 – 10 minutes. Because the chai tea is included in the recipe it is recommended to serve this vegan eggnog recipe warm. Once the vegan eggnog has been warmed through, strain and serve. Best served warm!

Looking for an added dose of sweetness? This would pair perfectly with the banana bread bundt cake. Check out the recipe here.

How do you serve this vegan eggnog? Warm or cold?

To serve this vegan eggnog recipe it is best to serve warm and heat on medium low heat. Full instructions have been shared in the recipe.

How to thicken vegan eggnog?

One thing about traditional eggnog is that the consistency of the eggs make it thick. So inorder to veganize this recipe you might seek a way to get that same great thickness. If you would like to thicken this recipe you could consider adding 1 Tbsp of tapioca flour. This will help to get the consistency you’re looking for. I wouldn’t recommend adding more than that as it could begin to alter the taste. If you don’t have tapioca flour you may substitute cornstarch.
